We recently caught up with Kieran, Nugent Stores Supervisor, and spoke about how he has enjoyed his time at Nugent so far.
What made you want to join Nugent?
In the beginning, I applied for a buyer role but the timing didn’t work out. However, Nugent was invested in my career and helped me to find the opportunity of becoming Stores Supervisor. This was a great opportunity since I had previous experience in this area.
How would you describe a typical week in your role at Nugent?
I keep track of stock levels and log any shortages for production in order for it to continue to run smoothly and on time. I liaise with the purchasing department and the production team to sort out which materials need ordered. Then I ensure there are no discrepancies in the stock.
Also, I deal with the booking of goods in and goods out, to make sure all materials are in their rightful place. I use the computer system to log this information and cross reference part numbers.
Aside from that, you would see me organising the storage area with the forklift and pallet truck to keep the goods tidy and easy to find.
What do you like most about your job?
I get job satisfaction from knowing that everything is running smoothly and in control. Furthermore, I like a challenge and this job definitely keeps me on my feet.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I was previously a personal trainer, but due to the challenging situation with COVID I decided to turn this into a side job and decided to seek out stable employment. That’s when I found Nugent.
Training continues to keep my weeks busy. Otherwise, I like to spend time with my wife and kids.
