What attracted you to Nugent?
What stood out for me about Nugent was the opportunities for progression and the rapid growth of the company. I was attracted to this particular role because it gave me an opportunity to work within my skillset. A friend of mine was working at Nugent and he highly recommended his experience there, so I decided to take the opportunity and go for it.
How would you describe a typical week in your role?
Typically, every day is different for me as it’s such a fast-paced environment and this makes my job interesting. I organise the logistics so that orders can be picked, dispatched and delivered efficiently, which involves interaction with other departments across the Group, so I enjoy the various inter-company exchanges with my colleagues.
We have customers and a dealer network all over Ireland, UK and into Europe, so I’m responsible for ensuring they receive the highest standard of service as the aftersales is an important element of the customer’s experience with Nugent.
What do you like most about your role?
I mostly enjoy interacting with customers as it allows me to build solid relationships, which creates good job satisfaction as I know I am able to help by solving their issues and queries.
What advice would you give to someone considering this career path?
I would advise anyone considering this career path to look at opportunities locally as you never know what is on your doorstep. There are a lot of opportunities around Mid-Ulster when it comes to engineering, due to the large number of engineering firms which are constantly growing.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend time playing football for my local club in Coalisland. I enjoy the social and fitness aspect of this. I like spending time off season in the gym or at CrossFit. Travel is also one of my many interests and I’ve travelled around most of the United States. The next destination on my list would be Canada or Thailand.
